          Description
Each card has been graded GEM MT 10 by PSA. Presented is a 132-piece complete set of 1986-87 Fleer basketball cards, highlighted by #57 Michael Jordan's rookie card in unimprovable PSA GEM MT 10 condition. Among the more than 28,500 examples of Jordan's #57 piece recorded in PSA's census reporting, only slightly more than 1 percent have achieved this unimprovable grading tier. This milestone production single-handedly brought about a renaissance in the basketball card hobby. The 1986-87 Fleer set's arrival, and its reception by an eager market, launched the segment of the industry into a stratosphere that few, if any, anticipated. In a too-rare instance of the right product appearing at the right time, these red-white-and-blue-themed marvels—featuring stars of enduring personality and quality—have assumed the status of "classic," and are undeniable favorites among the sport's enthusiasts. The issue's rookies and eye-popping colors all contribute to its already legendary mystique. The player roster is staggering in its future Hall of Fame content, and the athletes' star power is complemented here by exceptional condition. While Jordan's #57 card is undoubtedly the most coveted piece from this array, the rookie cards of Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing, Dominique Wilkins, Chris Mullin, and Clyde Drexler also populate this set, as well as known condition rarities such as Johnny Moore's #76 card (only 69 copies graded PSA GEM MT 10), Jeff Malone's #67 entry (only 67 examples graded PSA GEM MT 10), and Alvan Adams #2 piece (just 75 copies validated at PSA's highest tier). This is undoubtedly the most coveted and widely collected basketball card set in history; here, it is presented at the zenith of preservation and display quality, with its brilliant patriotic coloration, action-packed imagery, and nostalgia-inducing design projecting totally unmitigated aesthetic delight from margin to margin. Includes: Graded PSA GEM MT 10: 132 cards. Key highlights include: #'s 7 Barkley, 9 Bird, 26 Drexler, 32 Ewing, 53 Johnson, 57 Jordan, 68 Malone, 76 Moore, 77 Mullin, 82 Olajuwon, 109 Thomas, 121 Wilkins, and 132 Checklist. The set presents in absolutely stunning GEM MT condition throughout.
